Art & Soul is the perfect journey for reconnecting with your Self and allowing inspiration to flow through. The colorful kaleidoscope of Mother India will guide us on a powerful transformational trip, with an incredible group of sisters. Your spirit will ignite as we explore Mystical Delhi, experience the majesty of the Taj Mahal, and delve deeply into the mysteries of the sacred city of Pushkar.

Seeking Adventures and Artist Alma De La Melena Cox will be joining their magical creative forces in India to offer this unique Artistic Yoga Goddess journey. Blending daily guided creative artistic expression, with travel, Yoga, meditation, dance, and silence, you will journey deep into yourself, move through hidden blockages, inspire your purpose, explore your spirit’s personal symbols, your innate preferences, your natural creative expression, live within silence, and create from the inside out.
We each have a vast, creative and imaginative world within waiting to delight us with imagery, color and texture. As you play with art supplies, you will learn about composition, contrast and color mixing- all in a supportive environment. We will explore mixed-media techniques such as digital art creation, collage, intuitive painting with gesture, and layered creation with fabric and acrylic paints.
All experience levels are encouraged on this creative inner journey.
About the Art
Balancing masterful technique, with workshops to tap into your own creative potential, Alma will expertly guide you in creating an assortment of masterpieces. Examples of types of artwork that can be created are shown, but this is simply a starting point for your own potential.You will create:
- Digital artworks before the trip in an easy and fun online class. A completed 12”x 12” work of your choice will be brought to India for your embellishment.
- Art assets with mixed-media techniques on paper to use in a Gratitude Art Journal and canvasses.
- 5 Themed Canvasses (rolled up for travel). The themes include:
- Inspired Observance. Beginning with the raising of consciousness, intuitively layering the art assets we have created.
- Healing. Awareness of what is asking to be loved.
- Silence. Contemplate Shambhala. We receive impressions. We create from spirit to reality.
- Celebrating Shambhala and Enlightenment Creation. Exploration of our Goddess powers of seeing with the eyes of wisdom, beauty, love, peace, joy, creativity & imagination to create what is in line with our Divinity. We celebrate with a Goddess Initiation ceremony & Photoshoot.
- Abundance. We go deeper in our creative exploration to see the Oneness arising as we create with joy in our hearts. We understand our preferences, purpose and gifts to share. The magic of the world reflects our inner beauty.
- Extras! Creating a talisman doll and 10 Goddess cards.
- Digital Art–creating with the photos you capture, giving you plenty of art to continue to create from home.
About the Practice
This is a life changing retreat designed for those that wish to know themselves on a deeper level and make practical changes to realign with their true selves. No experience in Yoga, or meditation is necessary. No belief system is needed, or favored by us- we simply ask you to show up with a positive, authentic intention, and a willingness to experience what the journey offers you.
For deepening the experience, we will utilize a blend of the following techniques and practices:
YOGA– Our sessions offer a fusion of modern anatomy perspective and flair, with ancient tradition, philosophy, and authenticity. Morning classes are generally a dynamic vinyasa flow, while evening classes are more relaxing and meditative. Each class includes modifications for beginners and those with physical restrictions as well as options for those who wish to take their practice to a more physically challenging level. There is a strong focus on presence, healing, pranayama, meditation, and relaxation.
MEDITATION-We will facilitate daily meditation techniques in a group setting, as well as a practice for you to cultivate on your own. This includes moving meditation, mantra, walking, yantra, white tantric, yagna (fire ceremony), tratika, and Hridaya. These techniques help to focus and calm the mind so that you may experience the grace of meditation. You are also free to practice any meditation technique that you are currently already using.
MYSTICAL DANCE-Kristie will be offering an assortment of dance, healing movements, invocation, and group processes to open up to the divine feminine that inhabits each one of us. These sessions include the dance of the 7 veils, dancing the archetypes, opening the senses and many other delicious surprises. 🙂
DAILY GROUP SHARING-Each woman will have an optional 1-2 minutes to share from their heart and be completely heard. This reflective presence is a catalyst for growth, evolution, understanding and healing.
SILENCE– This journey includes 3 days of total silence. During this time, you will have the opportunity to delve deeper into yourself, your practice, your art,, and your true Shambhala.
About Accommodation & Food
Accommodation for this Journey is 3-5 stars in a mixture of hotels, guesthouses, and our lovely Garden Retreat Center. You will travel as the Goddesses that you are and stay in extremely beautiful and unique places. We carefully select accommodation that is safe, secure, with supportive beautiful energy, a home-like atmosphere, great support staff, and inspiring of spiritual practice.
Food in India is AMAZING!!! We include happy healthy food that makes your body and mind feel great. You will be eating mostly vegetarian, (with meat options for some of the meals in Delhi). The meals will support the activities of the journey, and are a nutritious mix of local cuisine with some western favorites. We often share many dishes and get the opportunity to sample the incredible cuisine of India. Other times you may just choose from a set menu. There will always be plenty of food to sample, and you will definitely like something being offered.

*There will be daily art sessions, 1-2x daily Yoga, meditation, and mystical dance classes
Day 1- Delhi
Arrive in Delhi by 1pm-Group meeting, Retreat opening, meditation, and Invocation, gratitude art journals, Delicious Indian dinner.
(We recommend arriving a day before the retreat begins to rest. If you decide to do this, we will help you to organize all the details)
Day 2-Agra/Taj Mahal
Morning train to Agra to visit the beautiful and inspiring Taj Mahal. Tour the incredible monument, Agra fort, and bustling Indian Town.
Return to Delhi for an evening in Delhi.
Day 3- Delhi to Pushkar
Travel by morning train and taxi to the the Sacred Brahma city of Pushkar. Pushkar is a quaint desert oasis situated around a beautiful Lotus-shaped lake. It is the only holy place dedicated to the creative force of Brahma and is powerful pilgrimage site. Upon our arrival, we will deepen our journey with a sunset Yoga practice, meditation, rest, and exploration.
Supported by the oasis’ high spiritual vibration, we will balance our time between artistic creation, inner exploration, and connection to sacred desert sites. We begin to create our works of art and gratitude art journals. In these first days in Pushkar our themes will be inspired observance and healing. We begin to deepen into ourselves and India. We will have a sunrise hike to the mountain-top temple of the Goddesses Savitri/Saraswati. We will meditate in the Brahma temple and make offerings of our intentions to the lake. We will begin to move into silence on day 6.
Day 7- Pushkar- Deepening into Silence
Our morning Yoga and meditation will deepen our experience for a day of creating and listening to our inner voices. This will be a full day of silence.
Day 8- Pushkar Silence
An almost full day of silence to continue creating and reflecting. Our silence will be broken in the late evening with Bhakti- the yoga of devotion, and a traditional Yagna (fire ceremony).
This phase is all about celebration, abundance, self love, and purpose. Here we will have the unique opportunity to experience transformational photography as we embody the Goddess fully. With our newly acquired saris, we will be photographed with our inner light shinning out. With this image as the center, we will begin to create our “Shambhala masterpiece.” We will also create our artworks of celebration and abundance. Within this phase, we will visit the rose gardens and see how they make rose essential oil. We will explore flower markets, the Shaktipeeth Goddess Temple, ashrams from the Satya Yuga era, meet Potato Baba, feed some monkeys, and meditate along the lake.
Day 14-Pushkar to Delhi
Travel by train to our amazing 5 star hotel in Delhi. Evening of relaxation and imbibing the abundance.
Day 15- 5 Star Mystical Delhi
After our breakfast of queens, we will experience the spiritual aspects of Delhi as we integrate our moving meditation within the Lotus Temple, Akshadam Temple, Riskshaws, markets, busy streets, and delicious restaurants. In the evening we will have our retreat closing and Integration back into the world.
Day 16- Farewell
Our final breakfast together and farewell back into the world. From here we will arrange transport to the airport and beyond. If you would like to stay an extra day for spa treatments and simply to relax, we would be happy to arrange this for you. 🙂

For 20 years, mixed-media artist and author, Alma de la Melena Cox, has taught hundreds of people at art retreats and in her home studio in Portland, Oregon. She shares her gifts of artistic expression (and technique) with love, joy, and presence. She masterfully guides her students to connect with the voice of their soul in order to manifest, express and live from that sacred place.
Alma’s revolutionary artwork inspires spirituality and connection with self. Her work has been featured on television, publications, and is in collections worldwide—from San Francisco to Japan.
She created an art process that brings fabric and paint together on wood. She is the author of Collage Fusion:Vibrant Wood and Fabric Art Using Telamadera Techniques and the transformational novel Calling Dolores For the past ten years, Alma has honed her expertise in digital art, photography and video to integrate these with the mixed-media techniques she teaches.
